23. Jimmy Snuka – WrestleMania VII

Look, everyone loves originals. Superman I, Godfather I, the first Mom on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the list goes on an on. Unfortunately for “The Streak”, it’s original is extremely lackluster. Just five months after his pay per view debut at Survivor Series in November, Taker was booked to face Jimmy Snuka at WrestleMania VII. Let’s not take anything away from “Superfly”. The guy was an absolute legend and is responsible for a number of iconic moments in pro wrestling history. But by 1991 when he would run into The Undertaker in Los Angeles, Snuka was 48 years old and his best days were clearly behind him. And that was on full display as Taker dispatched the Fiji native in just four minutes and twenty seconds via Tombstone.

Now, if you want to look for a silver lining in this one, Taker’s win over Snuka is actually the one that propelled him into the limelight. Shortly after this glorified squash match, Taker would embark on a feud with The Ultimate Warrior and by years end would get a taste of the WWF Championship when he beat Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series.

So yes, the match that made Taker 1-0 in what became one of the most iconic runs in professional wrestling history began with a 260 second walk in the park for The Deadman. Luckily for wrestling fans, things would get much tougher.
