NJPW Sakura Genesis 2018: Results, Grades, and Analysis
Los Ingobernables de Japon (SANADA, EVIL, & Tetsuya Naito) vs. Suzuki-gun (Davey Boy Smith Jr., Lance Archer, & Minoru Suzuki)
EVIL has made his return from injury, and the crowd seems delighted to see one half of the tag team champions back. Archer and Smith want to take that title from him. Suzuki hates Naito currently, because Naito won’t give him the time of day.
The match started off wild with Naito getting attacked by Suzuki, and KES taking SANADA and EVIL all over the place. Suzuki-gun was determined to make their mark on LIJ, as Suzuki was even more angry at Naito. Naito continues the story of becoming more and more Tranquilo by not caring about Suzuki at all. The champion is chasing the challenger, rather than the challenger chasing the champion. Brilliant storytelling.
The end of the match came with KES hitting the Killer Bomb on EVIL, getting a pinfall over the tag champs. This will set up a match between KES & LIJ.
Result: Suzuki-gun
Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
Naito cut a promo after the match, and Suzuki responded. It looks like we will be getting Suzuki/Naito very soon.
