Ronda Rousey is one of the most dominant female athletes on the planet. Rousey’s UFC record stands at an impressive 12-2, so it stands to reason that she should have no problem dealing with Stephanie McMahon, a woman is more a businesswoman than she is a wrestler.
Stephanie managed to one-up Rousey on this week’s go home edition of Raw, but it would be foolish of the WWE to allow Stephanie to get much offence in against Rousey at Mania. Smart money would be on Stephanie refusing to tag in with Ronda, leaving Triple H and Kurt Angle to carry the majority of the match.
We saw this tactic deployed multiple times in the mixed-match challenge tournament, and it could make for entertaining viewing on Sunday night. Fans love seeing Stephanie get her just deserts, and it is quickly becoming a staple of the company’s annual showcase.
After Kurt and Triple H have raged war long enough, Stephanie could finally be forced to compete with Rousey, with the two women squaring up in the middle of the ring. Stephanie could then hit Rousey with one of her notorious slaps, before Rousey just pummels her, forcing her to tap out to the armbar in a matter of minutes.
This would protect Rousey from having to perform too much, and also make her look pretty mean in the process. The WWE made a mistake by having Emma be competitive against Asuka on her debut, and the Empress of Tomorrow took a few months to recover from that, the WWE would be wise not to make the same mistake again.
