For weeks, John Cena called out the Undertaker, asking for a marquee match with the Dead Man at WWE WrestleMania 34. Because the Undertaker ignored him every step of the way, Cena has made good on his promise to attend WrestleMania as a fan.

John Cena did everything he could to get himself a title match at WrestleMania. He was one of the final four participants in the 2018 Royal Rumble, which was won by Shinsuke Nakamura. On Raw, Cena qualified for the Elimination Chamber match by defeating fan favorite Finn Balor with an Avalanche Attitude Adjustment just one day after the Rumble. But at the EC, Cena came up short, and the shot of him being locked outside the structure was a memorable moment indeed.

So what did Cena do after losing at the Rumble and the Elimination Chamber? Well, he went over to SmackDown Live to ask for an opportunity. Both Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon obliged, and Cena defeated WWE Champion AJ Styles in a match to enter a Six-Pack Challenge at Fastlane for the title.

Cena lost again, as Styles successfully retained his WWE Championship to keep the dream match with Nakamura alive. And that’s when Cena started to resign himself to attending WrestleMania as a fan, initially stating that a match with the Undertaker would be impossible.

As Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barraso posted above, John Cena is indeed at WrestleMania 34 in the crowd as a mere fan. No word on whether or not he brought beach balls with him, or if Cesaro managed to confiscate them beforehand.

Regardless, the Undertaker may also be in New Orleans, and there’s a chance this match may happen. Cena has called out Taker for weeks, but Taker has yet to respond. Maybe he’ll finally do so tonight, and maybe they’ll have a match tonight. Or maybe they’ll set something up for WrestleMania 35.

Either way, those fans in the crowd next to Cena are probably having the time of their life right now, and it will only get better if the American Badass decides to show up to defend his honor. After all, Cena has been calling the man a coward.
