Ditch the Template

Starting with 2015, the WWE has seemingly settled into a template for the Hall of Fame. Beginning with that year, every class has included: a tag team, a women’s wrestling legend, and a celebrity. To shorten the show to a reasonable length, the WWE should move away from this all but locked in format.

One great way to do this would be to have a woman headline the Hall of Fame, which would coincide well with the ongoing “Women’s Revolution”. Some names that come to mind as possible Hall of Fame Main Eventers are Sable, Chyna (whose Hall of Fame status warrants its own separate article), and Paige. Similarly, there are a number of tag teams that would be more than worthy of headlining the Hall of Fame, such as Demolition, the New Age Outlaws, and the Steiner Brothers.

Another idea would be to do what they did in 2014, and take the occasional year off from including a celebrity induction. Given that there isn’t exactly a large pool to draw from for this category, it makes sense to not commit to adding to the celebrity wing on an annual basis.

Sometimes less is more. By not strictly adhering to a given format, the WWE can can focus more on selecting the worthiest candidates as opposed to completing a checklist, and of course, fewer inductees means a shorter show.
