5. Bobby Roode
Bobby Roode’s main roster career has so far lacked the spark that his NXT career possessed. Much like Dolph Ziggler once said, his entire act has been minimized into merely a catchy entrance music. Part of the reason for this is Roode’s debut as a babyface. Bobby Roode oozes heel aura. His entire act is that of an over the top heel who believes he is a class above the rest of the field.
No matter how much the crowd loves to chant ‘Glorious’, it doesn’t change the fact that Roode was designed to be a great heel. A move to Monday nights, attacking someone like a prone Roman Reigns or a vulnerable Seth Rollins would instill that spark back to Roode. He should turn into an obnoxious heel — a tuned up version of the Miz, perhaps.
Roode’s stint at SmackDown Live will only get bitter (not better) from now on. With the recent heel turn of Shinsuke Nakamura and the potential of a number of other big names from Monday moving to the Blue Brand, his position on the card could take a hit.
If someone like Finn Balor or even The Miz switches over, Roode will probably be pushed away from even the mid-card championship he has been chasing ever since his call-up. Moreover, time is running out for the veteran to make a statement on the main roster.
