Roman Reigns Beats Up Samoa Joe

After losing his Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 34 to Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns received an embarrassing verbal undressing at the hands of Samoa Joe, whose intensity on the mic is almost impossible to match. Joe called Reigns a “failure” for losing to Lesnar and a “liar” for telling the fans that he could win and ultimately falling short.

These are strong words for a heel to be telling a babyface, particularly a babyface whom the company pushes strongly and who relentlessly took beatdowns prior to his loss at WrestleMania. Contrary to the worst fears of fans, Reigns hasn’t looked strong in some time, and it’s easy to forget that he put over The Miz twice when he dropped the Intercontinental Championship to the A-Lister.

A feud between Reigns and Joe for the Universal Title would be sweet, and Reigns needs to get the leg up on Joe here to sow those seeds. These two have had their beef in the past, and to reignite it, Reigns needs to give Joe some payback for his comments last week.

A beatdown from Reigns to Joe would build up Reigns before his big match steel cage Universal Title rematch against Lesnar at The Greatest Royal Rumble. It would also give something for Joe to stew over, and he would have a reason to up the ante against Reigns if he feels like “The Big Dog” hurt his pride.
