Impact Wrestling 5 Takeaways From Last Week Before Tonight’s Show

A Look Back at Wrestle Con
This past weekend was one of the rare occasions in wrestling. Two mainstream wrestling companies worked together on an event. Lucha Underground agreed to work with Impact Wrestling at Wrestle Con in New Orleans. One of the fans in attendance, who is the co-host of the Instant Classic Wrestling Podcast, said that the show was amazing. Impact Wrestling allowed the fans to experience this event during the broadcast on Thursday.
What is awesome about this one time partnership is that it will continue into Impact’s upcoming pay-per-view. At Redemption, the main event has been made as Austin Aries defends his Impact World Championship against Fenix and Pentagon Jr. Many of the biggest stars from both companies had the chance to step into the ring in dream matches.
It was an awesome blurring of the lines in a business that almost looks down on cooperation. This is something that should definitely happen more often. Ring of Honor is currently doing it with New Japan Pro Wrestling but it doesn’t always have the same luster. Since this is a rare occurrence, it made this feel that much more awesome to see.
