3. Can Becky Lynch find her place on Tuesday nights?
When the roster shake-up was announced, a lot of people, including myself expected Lynch to end up on Raw. After all, she hasn’t come anywhere near the Women’s title picture on Tuesday nights after the initial days of the brand split. Lynch has always remained a fighting babyface. But she hasn’t found the level of success that Sasha or Charlotte has enjoyed in the main roster.
A move to Monday nights would have benefited her. However, creative has opted to keep her on SmackDown itself. On top of that, Asuka has now officially debuted on the blue brand, making it even more difficult for Lynch to remain relevant. Charlotte, Lynch and Naomi were the consistent babyfaces, who opposed the likes of Natalya, Tamina, Lana and Carmella.
With the addition of the Iconics, and Carmella being the champion, Lynch finds herself without a spot on the card or a direction at the moment. Charlotte is still hunting for the title and with the addition of Asuka, there isn’t a spot for Lynch as Charlotte’s equal/ally.
Her best option would be to follow the same path as her Mixed Match challenger partner, Sami Zayn. Lynch should turn heel on Charlotte and Asuka to aid Carmella and the Iconics. She can easily explain her motives and thrive under her new persona. The heel side of Lynch is something the main roster has not witnessed. Freshening up her act would benefit Lynch a this point, now that a move to Raw and a fresh start are both out of the picture.
