Trevor Lee vs. DJZ vs. Brian Cage vs. El Hijo del Fantasma vs. Dezmond Xavier vs. Taiji Ishimori

Prediction: Taiji Ishimori

I guess I should start by addressing the blood-thirsty shark among this sea of elite athletes in this match, and that’s none other than Brian Cage. Impact has done a great job of portraying Cage as an unstoppable force, but what honestly overshadows his presence and strength is his ridiculous athleticism. A man of his size should not be able to perform hurricanranas and top rope elbow drops, and those two moves are just a taste of what Cage has done in his matches against KM and Bobby Lashley.

Cage is the most imposing of the six men in this match, but that’s precisely why most people don’t expect him to win. It’s hard to choose a victor out of the five remaining men, but, when in doubt, I always go with the most talented of the bunch. And to me, that’s Taiji Ishimori, who had an INSANE match with Johnny Impact a couple of weeks ago.

On the one hand, Cage hasn’t lost a match yet. On the other hand, why on earth would he win this one? It’s so hard to pick a winner here, but I’m going to go with my heart. Ishimori is one of the best cruiserweight wrestlers in the world today, and I’d like to see him and Matt Sydal renew their rivalry. It seems to me that the winner of this match would become the No. 1 contender to the X-Division Championship, which will be contested on Sunday night between Sydal and Petey Williams, which is yet another reason to pick Ishimori and eschew Cage as a logical selection.
