Allie (c) vs. Su Yung For The Knockouts Championship

Prediction: Allie retains

Allie is an absolutely brilliant babyface, and her championship triumph over Laurel Van Ness was a moment to remember. I’d consider Allie one of the breakout stars of 2018, and the improvements she’s made over the past several months really do stand out. I wrote last week that Rosemary is the face of Impact Wrestling, but right now, Allie, who has received guidance from #TheHive, is the face of the Knockouts Division.

That shouldn’t change.

Su Yung has talent and has made a big splash since being introduced to Impact a couple of weeks ago. Her alliance with Braxton Sutter is a bit perplexing, but it fits, given the fact that Sutter is weirdo who is obsessed with Allie.

Maybe Impact would want to pull the trigger on Yung holding the title to establish her as a top heel in Impact, but I just can’t see that being a good idea. Allie is on fire right now, and she needs to remain champion for months to come.

When you have a strong babyface champion like her who just keeps improving week-to-week, there’s no reason to pull the reign short, especially in favor of a new heel who isn’t getting much heat from the crowd. That’s not on Yung, whose unique character has been quite brutal, but it takes time. Yung could be legitimized faster as a champion, but it would be unwise to do that at the expense of Allie.
