With Buddy Murphy no longer able to compete at The Greatest Royal Rumble, a new number 1 contender would be decided on this week’s episode of WWE 205 Live

On last week’s edition of WWE 205 Live, Buddy Murphy had to give up his Cruiserweight championship match against Cedric Alexander at The Greatest Royal Rumble because he failed to make weight, coming at 207 pounds, 2 pounds over the 205 limit.

This meant that on this week’s episode, the brand would need to find a new number 1 contender for Friday’s event in Saudi Arabia. It was announced on last week’s show that there would be a gauntlet match to decide who would go on to face Alexander. The competitors for the match were announced yesterday and are, Mustafa Ali, Drew Gulak, Kalisto, Tony Neese, and TJP.

These are five of the strongest competitors on the 205 Live brand, and the company went with the bold decision of allowing the gauntlet match to be the only thing that took place on the show. Given the talent involved, the match had plenty of promise. So did it deliver? And who would be going on to face Cedric Alexander in Jeddah this upcoming Friday? Let’s take a look at this week’s edition of 205 Live and find out.
