Impact Wrestling Power Rankings: We’re Just Living In Brian Cage’s World
The first episode of Impact Wrestling television after the Redemption Pay Per View concluded with two successful title defenses and a whole lot of uncertainty in the power rankings.
Each week, we will rank the top ten wrestlers on Impact Wrestling, combining storyline with performance to deliver a semi-accurate (hopefully) list. This the first edition of our power rankings, so there’s bound to be a feeling out process, especially since we are only one episode of television removed from Redemption.
10. Johnny Impact
The week before Redemption, Johnny Impact was absolutely annihilated by Kongo Kong, as he was lawn darted into the steel steps. Johnny was busted open, bleeding from the mouth, as Kongo Kong and the “Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs have made it clear that their ultimate goal is to ruin Johnny’s pretty face. They resent his good looks and star power, and Jacobs wants Kongo Kong to assert himself at the top of the totem pole in Impact by taking out perhaps its most photogenic and magnetic star.
There’s a reason why he’s called “Johnny Impact”, though, and I wouldn’t put it past him to ultimately overcome Jacobs’s monster before heading back to the world title picture.
9. Taya Valkyrie
After losing her feud to Rosemary, Taya Valkyrie couldn’t pick up the Knockouts Championship on the episode of Impact following Redemption. She gave Allie everything she could handle, but Allie once again figured out a way to remain champion.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Valkyrie, who is one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster. Taya will face Kiera Hogan next week on Impact television after already defeating Hogan at Redemption. She will be the favorite here for sure, but Hogan seems like the type of talent who won’t lose to the same opponent twice.
