KRIS WOLF VS SAMMI JAYNE

Harmony: Everyone loses their minds as Kris sprints down the stairs and into the ring. The announcers mention that Kris is probably the hottest free agent in the world right now, and the pop she gets from the crowd indicates that’s probably true. I know she’ll probably find a home promotion eventually, but I wouldn’t be sad to see her bounce around for a while.

Sammi takes the ring, accompanied by Jetta, who plays the Heyman to her Lesnar by giving her an overblown entrance and asking if Kris is old enough to be in the building. The crowd isn’t having it, Kris isn’t having it, the match is on.

The following match is surprisingly heavy for a Kris Wolf match. There are some humor elements, like some jokey bits with Kris’s tail, and you know Sammi’s going to take a few kicks with her head stuck in the wolf mask. But Sammi clearly has something to prove. Charlie was unable to defeat Kris last time she was at ProEVE, so if Sammi can take Kris out, she might have one up on Charlie in the title bout. So she pretty much has to win this one.

Kris just doesn’t have the same kind of stakes in the match, and unfortunately that’s what takes her out in the end. They trade kicks, flips, suplexes and hurricaranas. Kris’s speed is nearly a match for Sammi’s strength. But in the end, Sammi just wants it more.

In a particularly awesome sequence, Sammi does a sliding suplex that carries her out of the ring as she slams Kris down on the apron. Kris responds by doing a springboard off of the top ropes and crossbodying Sammi in the crowd. Before Kris is back on her feet, Sammi has jumped back into the ring to do a suicide dive onto Kris. Kris is a great wrestler, but Sammi is a wrecking machine on a mission, and in the end Kris meets her fate at end of a powerbomb.

This was a great match and a great set up for the championship match at Wrestle Queendom. Both Charlie and Sammii are walking in with victories, and both have a lot to prove. I can hardly wait!

Next we have our main event, but first, a quick intermission. LoLo Brow sings a romantic duet with a dildo, and it’s pretty funny.

Now that we’ve been lulled into a false sense of security, how about a hardcore match?

Joe: If you didn’t come out of this match disappointed that Kris Wolf didn’t win despite the inevitability of the champion winning, then you were certainly in the minority. Wolf is so easy to root for, and part of that is because she’s just so damn electric in the ring. This wasn’t my favorite match on the card, but it was solid and served as a good showcase for both wrestlers.
