1. Will Finn Balor Ever Get A Big Break Again?
Two superstars that have had quite a bit of history together in recent memory are Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. The two battled in the inaugural Universal Championship match at SummerSlam 2016 and are now battling it out for the Intercontinental Championship.
Rollins won the title from The Miz at WrestleMania 34 in a Triple Threat Match that also featured Balor, but with The Miz scheduled for a rematch at the upcoming Backlash pay-per-view, Balor threatened to change the course of that match in a big way last night after successfully requesting and getting a title match from The Architect.
Any time these two compete in the ring, it results in something special. And last night was no different in what has to be considered one of the best TV matches in a long time and one of the best matches of the year already. Both Rollins and Balor broke out moves and counters that fans haven’t seen before and there were a few moments when it looked like Balor would win the title.
But in the end, Rollins won and retained his title. Having Rollins as Intercontinental Champion is a great thing, but when will the WWE ever give Balor a big break? He continuously comes up short in these key matches with titles on the line. He is clearly one of the best the WWE has to offer, but the company just never lets him break through and that has stayed the same ever since he returned from injury last year.
