STEEL CAGE MATCH: WAR GAMES RULES

Yes, it’s THAT War Games. Eight women representing eight different countries will be kicking off Wrestle Queendom by staging the first-ever women’s War Games steel cage match. If the historic angle isn’t enough to get you excited, the wrestlers involved should do the trick. Team Squad Goals (Emi Sakura, Addy Starr, Laura Di Matteo and former EVE champ Rhia O’Reilly) will be facing off with The Deserving (Jayla Dark, Blue Nikita, Jamie Hayter and Charli Evans). Eight of the most talented women wrestling in the world today, kicking off a historic event in the biggest way possible. Dusty would be proud.

Harmony: War Games is one of my favorite match formats, because no matter what happens it’s always just completely insane. This match has a lot going for it with a good mix of well-known EVE favorites and some outstanding newer talents. I honestly don’t think I can predict a winner here because War Games matches are just too wild, but I’m going to arbitrarily give it to Team Squad Goals. Rhia O’Reilly is my favorite wrestler at EVE and I am glad to see her back in the ring, so it would be nice to see her team come out on top. (Maybe she can smuggle some chocolate eggs into the ring, too.)

Joe: As a punk-ass college kid, I never actually watched a War Games match live in my life until NXT TakeOver’s event last year, and, well, I was hooked. I can’t wait to see what these women do in a War Games match. Like Harmony, I also find it difficult to pick a winner, but how can you NOT pick a team called #SquadGoals? The Undisputed Era are NXT’s most cohesive squad and they won at TakeOver, so I’m inclined to pick the team that operates best as a unit. And any team with that name led by Rhia O’Reilly should be the favorite.
