Pro Wrestling Eve: Wrestle Queendom Preview

WILDCARD LADDER MATCH QUALIFIER: JETTA VS KRIS WOLF

Sometimes necessity is the mother of excellent booking. The Wildcard is a contract that will be up for grabs in a ladder match at Wrestle Queendom. Originally, internationally-beloved lycanthrope Kris Wolf was going to be wrestling Jinny for a spot in the match, and infamous EVE heel Jetta was going to be wrestling Nicole Matthews for a different opportunity at the SHE-1 tournament (which we’ll be covering later this year). Unfortunately, things happen and the card is always subject to change. Neither of these matches will be happening at Wrestle Queendom this year. But EVE’s solution is more than enough to make up for it:

Harmony: So while it’s a real bummer than Jinny and Nicole are out for Wrestle Queendom, I feel like I accidentally got a dream match here? Two great comedic performers with serious in-ring skills battling over an opportunity for the Wildcard will be awesome. They’re meeting in an EVE ring for the first time and while I’d never thought of seeing them wrestle before it’s literally all I want to see now. Jetta’s precision cheating colliding with Kris’s berserker rage will be a lot of fun to watch. I think the match could go either way, but I’d like to see Kris win. She’s a fantastic flyer, and I think she’d be a great addition to the ladder match.

Joe: I was looking forward to watching Jinny in this match, but wrestling has a way of gifting the fans even bigger matches when someone is unable to compete. I hope Nicole Matthews is doing OK and makes a speedy recovery, since that is the most important thing.

But when it comes to this new match, I couldn’t be more excited. Kris Wolf is AWESOME, and it was so easy to root for her at #SHEVOLUTION when I was first introduced to her work. Jetta is the polar opposite, because I despise her so much (kayfabe, of course). I mean, she’s just so conniving, so full of herself, and so willing to kick others down. I’m hoping Wolf teaches her a lesson, puts that wolf mask on her head, and rages herself to a victory. Jetta can cheat all she wants, but it won’t be enough to overcome this opponent.
