2: Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali has been the breakout star of 205 Live in 2018, and his rise to the top continued this month. Ali was unsuccessful in his quest for the cruiserweight championship at WrestleMania 34, but he put on a great performance in front of the New Orleans crowd and better acquainted himself with the wider WWE universe.

Ali has competed several times on the show during April, first defeating Daivari on the April 17th edition of the show, before losing in a valiant effort to Drew Gulak in the gauntlet match, after surviving a fast-paced encounter with former champion TJP at the start of the match.

Mustafa Ali is one of the brand’s most exciting stars right now, and his rise to the top could be one of the brand’s biggest stories in 2018.

1: Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander’s climb to the top of 205 Live has been one of the brand’s best ever feel-good stories. Alexander is one of the most charismatic and talented performers on the 205 Live roster, and his title victory at WrestleMania 34 was a long time coming. Despite being relegated to the pre-card, the two men still managed to put on one of the best matches on the show, and a rematch between them later down the line is wisely being kept back for now.

Alexander’s first defence of the title came at The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia, where he put on another solid performance against Kalisto.

Alexander is the brand’s poster boy at the moment, and he is on the best form of his career. A match with Buddy Murphy at Backlash looks likely next and I’ve no doubt the two men will put on another excellent performance.
