Pete Dunne Vs Roderick Strong

Result: Pete Dunne win by DQ

Grade: B-

The growing feud between Pete Dunne and The Undisputed Era is one of the best things on NXT right now and Dunne and Strong delivered in another great match on this week’s show.

Dunne came out looking super strong, striking Dunne with stiff shots and really selling his no-nonsense in-ring approach. Strong has very quickly adapted to being a heel, and he worked an excellent heel performance in the match here, coming across as a coward and weaker than Dunne.

The match went for around 10 minutes before The Undisputed Era came in and beat down Dunne, which led to a run in from Burch and Lorcan to save the day and close the show. Dunne and Strong will likely meet at Takeover, while Lorcan and Burch will probably challenge for the tag titles. I suspect the feud with Dunne will carry on way into the summer, and will eventually lead to Pete Dunne, Tyler Bates, and Trent Severn taking on The Undisputed Era over SummerSlam weekend.

All in all, this was a fun episode of NXT, and next week’s show looks even more promising, with the solo debut of EC3 taking place, The War Raiders taking on Heavy Machinery, and Tomasso Ciampa squaring off with Kassius Ohno.
