Once Almas has graduated up towards the main event on SmackDown then AJ Styles is the perfect candidate to be his first opponent.
AJ and Almas are two of the best workers in the WWE today and a match between the two of them is a mouth-watering prospect.
There doesn’t need to be a title involved in the feud, though, it could always be a champion vs champion feud to really spice things up. AJ would no doubt be Almas’ toughest opponent to date, including anyone he faced in his NXT run and it would really show fans whether he has what it takes to make it as a main event player in the WWE or not.
Even if Almas come out on the losing end of this, the great thing about AJ is that whatever he touches turns to gold, and if Almas could put on an excellent performance against him, then he would be a made man on Tuesday nights.
If he is handled correctly, Almas could be a part of the WWE’s main event scene for the foreseeable future, with the former La Sombra only being 28 years old as well.
SmackDown has perhaps its finest roster since the early 2000’s at the moment, and Almas could prove to be a major player in that.
