Tomasso Ciampa Vs Kassius Ohno

Result: Tommaso Ciampa Wins with a Modified Neckbraker

Grade: B+

Hands down, Tommaso Ciampa is the best thing in the WWE right now, and he proved himself once again on last night’s NXT.

First things first, that silent entrance is inspired, it’s basically an arrogant challenge to the crowd to do their worst, and Ciampa revels in it. Secondly, his commitment to his character is second to none, and the little spots during this match were so well executed, it’s impossible not to be impressed by the guy.

Ohno also worked as the perfect opponent here. Sure, some fans may be miffed about Ohno constantly getting defeated, but he’s a talented guy and he makes his opponents look excellent. There is little chance of him breaking into the main roster at this point, so they may as well use him like this.

The in-ring work was excellent and the storytelling element of the match, with Ohno trying to defend his friend but ultimately not having enough in the tank really worked as well. Ciampa looked excellent here, and his victory was convincing. This was everything I’d hoped it would be, and a great main event.

This week’s WWE NXT was another jam-packed and exciting show. EC3 looked great on his debut, and Ohno and Ciampa were excellent in the main event. Next week, the team of Oney Larcen, Danny Burch and Pete Dunne will take on The Undisputed Era in 6 man action, in what promises to be another excellent match.
