3. The Royal Mellabration
Not enough fans give Carmella the credit she deserves as an elite heel in the WWE’s women’s division. She has flourished in her role over the past several weeks since cashing in her Money in the Bank opportunity and becoming the SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Carmella has moved past the Charlotte Flair roadblock for the time being after she retained her title at Backlash. And as expected, the braggadocios champion was basking in her glory last night with The Royal Mellabration. This continued her recent role of being an obnoxious heel and it was entertaining while it lasted.
The SmackDown Women’s Champion went full-fledged heel mode again and even said she was better than an abundance of current and past women’s competitors. However, GM Paige interrupted her proceedings and made an announcement that Carmella would defend her title at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view next month.
But the opponent was particularly disheartening for The Queen Of Stanton Island when Asuka hit the ring. The Empress Of Tomorrow will challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and it could spell doom for Carmella. Maybe Asuka won’t win the title immediately, but it seems inevitable she will win the gold sooner than later.
The Royal Mellabration was a solid segment even if it didn’t give Carmella enough time to shine as a heel.
