Akira Tozawa Vs Hideo Itami

Result: Hideo Itami Wins with a Knee Strike

Grade: B

Hideo Itami and Akira Tozawa have been an entertaining tag team in 205 Live in recent months but tensions boiled over a few weeks ago, and the two found themselves squaring off this week.

The story heading into the match was based around Itami pushing Tozawa a few weeks back on 205 Live, and they also had some build focusing on the fact that Itami is somewhat of a veteran compared to Tozawa.

They both played their roles here excellently and told a great story in the ring. The WWE doesn’t give their fans enough of this kind of match, with the two men allowing their in-ring work to tell the story for them.

In the early goings, the two men were meeting each other blow for blow, but as the bout wore on, Itami’s experience allowed him to outlast his less experienced opponent, who perhaps got a little ahead of himself at times.

There were some excellent sequences during the bout, and both of these men deserve to be back in the title picture, especially Hideo Itami, who really showed the wider WWE universe what he was capable of in this match.

This week’s 205 Live was another highly entertaining show. The main event was probably the best match we have seen on WWE television this week, and the opening match was also a lot of fun. 205 Live continues to grow from strength to strength at the moment, and hopefully, more fans will begin to realise that in the coming months.
