oVe (Dave and Jake Crist) vs. Drago and Aerostar
Sami Callihan comes out with Dave and Jake Crist, and it’s Don Callis’s first day back on commentary after being taken out of action by Callihan. So yeah, that’s eerie to say the least.
The match doesn’t even start and Drago takes out oVe with an acrobatic dive to the outside, and Aerostar follows suit.
oVe gets the advantage time after time by making usage of Callihan’s interference on the outside, which comes as no surprise.
As the match starts to heat up, we suddenly cut backstage to Eddie Edwards, who is driving in to the arena and has a kendo stick in hand. His wife, like Tommy Dreamer, is pleading with Edwards that this is “over”.
Edwards quickly appears to attack Jake Crist, causing a disqualification. Callihan steps in, but Edwards starts to choke him out with the kendo stick, just as he did after the Street Fight with the baseball bat.
What a stark visual.

A deranged, obsessed @TheEddieEdwards attempting to choke the life out of @TheSamiCallihan.
This is not the same Eddie Edwards we've known in IMPACT for the last four years. #IMPACTonPop pic.twitter.com/w6d0d7JnUD
During this, Edwards’s wife screams “It’s over!” at Edwards, who is lost in another world and has to be pulled away from Callihan by security.
Edwards’s descent into utter madness has become one of wrestling’s most heated storylines, and the addition of his wife into the storyline magnifies his insanity. He won’t even listen to the person he care about the most, because all she wants is for Edwards to end a feud he’s already won.
It gets worse. Edwards then turns to security, smashing them with the kendo stick, completely ignoring his wife’s increasingly more vociferous screams.
He tries to explain things to his wife, who yells that now there’s no difference between Edwards and Callihan. He’s just as bad as him. Edwards tries to reason that he’s “doing this for us” and that it isn’t over until he “destroys” Callihan.
Rating: B+, I’m loving Edwards’s acting, but I’m almost getting worried about how big this pay-off is going to be. I say that with a smile on my face, because that’s how invested I am in Edwards’s impressive inability to control himself.
