WWE Money in the Bank 2018 Match Card Predictions Version 3.0
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
(Ember Moon vs. Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya vs. Lana vs. Naomi vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch)
On SmackDown Live this week, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair had a TREMENDOUS backstage promo in which the two argued over their chances of winning the Money in the Bank ladder match. While Charlotte’s part of the segment was really good, Becky’s part was even better. She seemed so determined to capture that contract and reclaim the SmackDown Women’s Championship, which she’s never had a real shot at reclaiming since being the first woman to win that belt.
Despite the fact that I’d love to see Becky or Sasha Banks, who became the last woman to qualify for the ladder match after winning a Gauntlet Match on Raw, win the contract, Natalya and Alexa Bliss seem to be the most likely picks on paper.
Bliss wins so many big matches, and she’s the type of arrogant heel who would do well with the briefcase in her hands. She’s been at her manipulative best this year, and Bliss is one of those wrestlers who needs to be as close to the title picture as possible.
But if Rousey wins the Raw Women’s Championship off of Jax, Natalya suddenly becomes the favorite to win the Money in the Bank ladder match. Nattie and Rousey are friends and have each other’s backs ever since “The Queen of Hearts” moved to Raw in this year’s Superstar Shakeup, but Natalya has been a desperate, evil champion as recently as December 2017 (she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair at Clash of Champions).
If Rousey wins the title, Natalya could try to cash in on her and start a big-time rivalry for SummerSlam that would likely surprise fans in terms of the quality of the feud. It could be a huge coming-out moment for Rousey as a singles star.
Becky, Sasha, Bliss, and Nattie are all great candidates, but I’m going to pick Natalya this week in the interest of mixing things up after making Alexa my choice in each of the past two weeks.
Prediction: Natalya is the new Mrs. Money in the Bank
