Ricochet Vs Chris Dijak

Result: Ricochet Wins with the 630 Splash

Grade: B

Chris Dijak, better known to most wrestling fans as Donovan Dijak, finally made his NXT debut last night, after signing for the company at the start of 2018.

Dijak has an impressive pedigree and could no doubt be a future star in the WWE. For those who need to acquaint themselves with him, go and check out his match with Keith Lee from PWG Battle of Los Angeles last year.

While Dijak may have come out on the losing end of this very quick match, both he and Ricochet managed to look very impressive. This is as good as a sub 3 minute match is probably ever going to get, with both men flying out of the gates and hitting a series of impressive moves.

Dijak looked great, and his chokeslam on the apron looked devastating. Ricochet continued to shine, and seeing him lift Dijak, who is 6’8, was an impressive site. Ricochet picked up the victory here but hopefully, Dijak has put his name on the radar in NXT.

After the match, Ricochet gets on the mic and talks about Velveteen Dream. He says that Dream is talented but he is not without his flaws. This leads to Dream hitting the entrance ramp.

Dream says that tonight was Ricochet’s time in the spotlight and last week was both of their time in the spotlight but the only spotlight big enough to hold them both is Takeover: Chicago. Riccohet tells Dream to come to the ring and take his spotlight, but Dream stops halfway down the ramp. Ricochet then flips over the top rope, lands on and his feet and squares up to Dream in what was probably the most impressive moment of the night. Dream sells his amazement incredibly and makes his way up the ramp.

The feud between these two is quickly becoming one of the best things on NXT right now. Ricochet’s athleticism is unreal and Dream’s character work is second to none. Dream has even helped bring out a more charismatic side to Ricochet, who has never been famed for his ability on the mic. These two could steal the show in Chicago.
