5. Cesaro

When it was first announced that a member of either The Bar or The New Day would be able to earn their way into the Money in the Bank ladder match, I was very excited about the idea. But, this is because I thought The Bar would win.

I thought it would make perfect sense for The Bar to win as a way to split Cesaro and Sheamus up. As good as they are as a team, there are already plenty of tag teams like The Bludgeon Brothers, The Good Brothers, The Uso Brothers, The New Day (not brothers but still a tag team), and the debuting SAnitY.

Also, with WWE now featuring cobranded PPVs from here on out, there is not enough space for tag teams that aren’t in title contention to be on the card, and Sheamus and Cesaro are far too talented to be left out of storylines and PPV spots.

So, this would have been a great way to split The Bar up. These two obviously both think they are the superior athlete, so they’d both think they are the one that deserves a spot in the Money in the Bank match.

This could lead to one turning on the other and a match decide which former teammate would qualify. Both are solid options, but I would prefer Cesaro because Sheamus has already had a couple runs at the top, and Cesaro still hasn’t been able to win the big one.

After the great work these two have done as a team, these two should be rewarded with solid singles runs. This Money in the Bank match would have been a great way to get it started. Sadly, I can only dream of Cesaro holding the WWE Championship one day…for now.
