5 Superstars That Should Have Been In A Money In The Bank Match
By Dalton Quix
4. Peyton Royce/Billie Kay
When The IIconics, formerly known as The Iconic Duo, made their debut on SmackDown Live in April, it was kind of a big deal. They were wildly popular with their annoying sorority sister gimmick down in NXT, and their main roster debut was highly anticipated.
They brought their annoying selves right to the forefront of the Women’s Division when they attacked Charlotte and costed her the SmackDown Women’s Championship when Carmella cashed in. So, it looked like big things were in their future.
Sadly, that hasn’t been the case. The IIconics have faced several losses since debuting, and they both lost their qualifying matches for Money in the Bank. While Peyton Royce losing to Charlotte is understandable, Billie Kay got SQUASHED by Lana in a matter of minutes!
For first time viewers of The IIconics, they certainly don’t look like credible threats and could be dead in the water after such a poor start. Although, I’m confident they will turn it around due to their immense talent and killer T-shirt sales.
ANYWAY, we shouldn’t have to worry about The IIconics turning it around because at least one of them should be in the Money in the Bank match! If new talent is getting called up to the main roster, WWE should showcase them in order to get the crowd invested in their success and failures.
Money in the Bank would be a great showcase match for the IIconics as we would get to see their dynamic in play in such a high stakes and multi women match. Also, a win against a main roster Superstar to qualify for the match would then legitimize them as a threat to the Women’s Division.
Instead, The IIconics aren’t even going to be featured on the Money in the Bank PPV. Well, hopefully I’ll be able to see them annoy the preshow panel. That’s always fun.
