The Brian Kendrick Vs Lince Dorado
Result: Lince Dorado Wins with the Golden Rewind
Grade: C+
The feud between The Luchas and the three-man team of The Brian Kendrick, Jack Gallagher, and Drew Gulak continued on this week’s 205 Live, as The Brian Kendrick went one-on-one with Dorado, after making him tap out on last week’s show.
The in-ring action here was solid, with Kendrick’s grounded approach providing a nice juxtaposition to Dorado’s aerial based offence. The real highlight of this match, though, was Drew Gulak on commentary.
Gulak is easily the best character on 205 Live right now, and his exchanges with the commentary team were excellent. His insistence on calling Lince Dorado, ‘Lince Dorito’, had me in stitches, and his ‘literature’ was always highly entertaining.
Dorado picked up the win after a solid back and forth encounter here, and Gulak then attacked the Lucha house party team after. Gulak and Kendrick then lift the ring, and it was announced later in the night that Gulak, Gallagher, and Kendrick would be in six-man action against the Lucha House Party on next week’s show.
TJP Vs Bryan Keith
TJP is out next for this week’s squash match. TJP beats down his opponent from the off and then grabs a mic. He says that he hates to do this in front of his opponent’s friends and family, but he needs to make a point. He says that Drake Maverick needs to start appreciating him, because otherwise, he may have to find himself a new home.
He continues to beat down his opponent and then says ‘submission time’ before locking in his finisher and making his opponent tap out.
This was an excellent segment for TJP, and I hope this leads towards some sort of match with Drake Maverick later down the line. He has really developed his character in the last few weeks.
Lio Rush Promo
We then get a video promo for the arrival of Lio Rush on 205 Live. Rush calls himself a living legend and ‘the man of the hour’. Rush has caused some controversy during his time in NXT, so it will be interesting to see how he fairs on the main roster.
