Buddy Murphy Vs Mustafa Ali
Result: Mustafa Ali Wins via DQ
Grade: B
Hot off his incredible match last week with Cedric Alexander, Buddy Murphy was out to steal the show once again this week as he went one-on-one with Mustafa Ali.
Ali and Murphy had an excellent match at the beginning of last month, and they repeated that feat again on this week’s show. The two men have a great chemistry in the ring, and there were some beautifully executed combination exchanges throughout the bout.
For the third time in Murphy’s run on 205 Live, the crowd broke out into a ‘this is awesome’ chant, and while that chant may be the most over-used thing in wrestling, it is still a testament to how well he has performed since making his step-up.
After a series of near-falls, Ali climbed to the top to hit the 450, when Hideo Itami attacked him from out of nowhere, causing a DQ finish.
While I would have loved to see a clean finish to such a great match, both Ali and Murphy need a victory, so it makes sense to protect them.
Itami then beat both men down, and it now looks as though he will be inserting himself into the Cruiserweight title picture. Itami is an excellent performer, and it looks as though he may have finally found his rhythm as a heel, a match between him and Alexander should be a cracker.

Once again, 205 Live put on a much better show than both Raw and SmackDown this week. The show has been on fire over the last few weeks, and with Itami now entering the Cruiserweight title picture, it doesn’t look as though that good run of form is going to stop anytime soon.
