4. Asuka vs. Mandy Rose And Sonya Deville
The undefeated Asuka was a sight to behold in the WWE and she legitimately felt like a must-see superstar during this run that lasted over two years including NXT and the main roster. But since her loss to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34, she hasn’t been nearly as dominant as she once was.
That doesn’t take away from her greatness, however, and despite not having a zero on the other side of her win/loss record anymore, she is still one of the best women’s competitors in the world. She helped prove that last night after the opening segment of the night led to a handicap match pitting Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville against The Empress Of Tomorrow.
This match was very solid from the start with the duo holding firm against Asuka, but that wouldn’t last in the end. The action really picked up and Asuka had to get creative to out-maneuver Rose and Deville, but her craftiness paid off. The Empress Of Tomorrow turned the tide in her favor and she was able to get the hard-fought win before Carmella jumped her from behind.
She will have a shot at the SmackDown Women’s Championship in less than two weeks, but Asuka’s performance against Rose and Deville last night was quite impressive. The sequence towards the end with her and Deville was particularly impressive and both Rose and Deville left the match better than what they entered it.
The Empress Of Tomorrow got back to her undefeated roots last night in a quality match against two rising stars on the blue brand.
