2. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
Two of the most important women in the WWE over the past few years have to be Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. These two women have helped raise the bar for women’s wrestling in the WWE whether it’s been in NXT as two of the four horsewomen or the main roster as multi-time women’s champions.
Both Charlotte and Lynch will take part of the upcoming women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, but last night was all about these two friends squaring off in an important battle heading into the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. Despite a friendship and mutual respect, these two pulled out all the stops to get the win.
This was one of the better women’s matches the WWE has put on in a while, especially on TV. It wasn’t perfectly polished, but the storytelling and in-ring work were very high throughout the majority of this match. Just when it looked like Charlotte had it won, Lynch turned things around and hooked Charlotte in the disarmer.
And in a much-needed turn of events, Charlotte tapped out and Lynch got a big win she really needed. Both of these women will leave a mark on the Money in the Bank ladder match, but they left a very positive mark last night in a match that could go a long way in the buildup towards the Money In The Bank pay-per-view.
The Irish Lass Kicker needed a win and coming against The Queen, that win feels even bigger with the opportunity of a lifetime looming in under two weeks.
