3. Can Lana realistically work the MITB ladder match?

Lana has been getting more ring time as of late and she is even a part of this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match for the Women’s division. We don’t know if creative really does have a plan in place for her in the match itself or if this is merely a ploy to keep the Rusev Day chants going. Rusev will be competing in the men’s match and has a more realistic shot at grabbing the briefcase.

But coming back to Lana, it seems more and more evident that her spot should have gone to someone else on the roster. Last week, SmackDown Live featured a dance-off between Lana and Naomi, reminiscent of the early 2000s when this kind of thing was common and actual wrestling was a rare sight in the Women’s division. But in 2018 was it really needed?

This week, there was a mixed tag team match which was entertaining nonetheless, but brought out Lana’s weaknesses inside the ropes once again. She is improving with every passing match but as of now, she didn’t need to factor into the ladder match. Lana has so much to improve as a wrestler that she is not even an underdog heading into the match itself.

When it’s time to get into this potentially dangerous ladder match, will she be able to deliver? Or will her weaknesses and her lack of experience as a wrestler outshine her charisma? There is a huge chip on Lana’s shoulders and if she fails to deliver a quality performance, she could actually derail the momentum of Rusev Day itself.
