WWE 5 Burning Questions: What Lies Ahead For Ziggler And McIntyre?

What did creative just do with Baron Corbin?
If there is one thing I can say about Baron Corbin, it’s that the guy has nailed his character work. The Lonewolf gimmick suits his looks, attitude in backstage segments and even his in-ring game for some reason. Corbin has always portrayed himself as someone who doesn’t care about the fans or his fellow wrestlers. Instead he is only interested in making money.
He also added another layer to his character by regularly mocking indie fans. For a guy who did so much groundwork for his character, creative has not made the best use of him. The guy has not had a significant or length push of any sorts. One needs to be reminded every now and then that Corbin is a former United States Champion. One also need to pay the fans to ensure they don’t bring up his failed Cash in against Jinder Mahal of all people.
Now, creative has made his one of Stephanie McMahons representatives of sorts. He was appointed as the ‘Constable of Raw‘. Constable Corbin is a catchy name. But it might come at the expense of burying all the fine character work he has done up to this point.
Moreover, I feel an impending sense of doom, a not so distant future, where Kurt Hawkins might beat him. If that happens, creative would essentially be squandering one of their own homegrown talents. Corbin has the looks and the potential to be a big name in the industry. His in-ring work deserves more credit than people actually give him. But this latest development of his character might spoil all that.
