Nia Jax vs. Natalya, with Ronda Rousey on commentary

So remember how Nia Jax won the Women’s Title at WrestleMania, overcoming the bully Alexa Bliss? And then how she won again at Backlash, then did that terrible promo about that win being for anyone who’s ever been bullied? No? Okay, good, it is best to just act as if that never happened, because it might make this story line make just a little bit of sense.

All jokes aside, Nia has quickly been turned heel for this program Rousey after just being turned baby face a few months ago, and now she faces Rousey for the Women’s title at Money in the Bank. There are so many things I don’t like about this program. I don’t like that Nia challenged Rousey, when Nia is the champion, I don’t like how Rousey is being hot-shotted to the title picture with this being her first singles match, and, for the most part, I don’t like how they present Ronda Rousey’s character on TV.

Getting into this particularly though, Ronda was on commentary for a match between Nia and Natalya. Rousey, not to my surprise, seemed out of her element on commentary. There was a lot of awkwardness, including what may be my favorite worst line on WWE commentary, when Michael Cole asked Rousey about her thoughts on Nia saying she challenged her because Nia believes she is “ripe for the picking” which Ronda responded to by saying “I think only my husband can say I’m ripe for the picking.” This line was so cringe worthy and awkward that they went to commercial after it and decided to say the same exact lines again verbatim when they got back from commercial.

In the match, Nia beat Natalya off the back of Natalya injuring her leg. Nia tries to help Natalya, Rousey doesn’t want her to. Who cares. I don’t understand the purpose of any of this.
