Is Braun Strowman Booked Too Strong?

Throughout the night, Kevin Owens was trying to convince Finn Balor and Bobby Roode to team up with him and try to take out Braun Strowman in the main event fatal four way. This was good heel work from Kevin Owens, and the real great part came in the end when Roode, Balor, and Owens are all talking in the back, and Braun comes up to them and simply says “I have a good idea. How about the tree of you team up on me.” This was all good stuff.

I will say that as far as this match goes, from an entertainment standpoint, this was all good stuff. Kevin Owens in particular was fantastic in this match. His selling for fear of Braun Strowman was excellent, which comes as no surprise as in my opinion, Owens overall is the best at selling in the WWE.  The reasons I didn’t like it go deeper than just entertainment, but this was good television.

The majority of this match was the trio of Balor, Owens, and Roode trying to team together to take out Bruan, but still being swatted away like flies. Eventually the three would get the better of Braun, putting him on the announcer’s table for Owens to put him through it with frog splash off of a ladder. The three would continue the match themselves, thinking they had Braun taken out. Of course, Bruan would reinsert himself later on. Owens selling of this in particular was very great.

Braun came back, ate finishers from everyone, kicked out of all of them, and would eventually pick up the win with a power slam to Owens onto a ladder. This is where my problems with this match come in. Braun Strowman is being booked too strong. The amount of damage he took this match, to shrug it off and still win, just took it a bit too far for me. Think about it, let’s say Braun Strowman wins Money in the Bank, and goes onto win the Universal Championship.

Who believably can even have a good championship match with him at this point? Braun is so head and shoulders above everyone else now, that if he were to have a championship match with Kevin Owens per say. There’s no doubt there. We’ve seen Braun kick Owens around for months, and if they would then have a championship match, it wouldn’t interest me, and I think that goes for a lot of guys on the roster right now.
