Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass

This one is a difficult one. Personally if I were booking this there wouldn’t be a rematch from their Backlash match and the two would go their separate ways. However, I deal with the hand that is dealt to me. Big Cass just hasn’t been doing it for me since he came back. It’s not all his fault though, because at the beginning I was a big fan of his promos, but he’s essentially been cutting the same promo since this feud started. “I’m better than Daniel Bryan because I’m tall and he’s not.” Every Cass promo in a nutshell.

It’s such a lack of creativity, as there is plenty of other things Cass could talk about to try to make this feel more personal. Cass could talk about how Bryan had to work the independent scene for so long, but Cass is too good for that and went straight to WWE. Many more directions it could’ve than just “I’m tall so I’m better than you.”

As far as the match goes, this really make or break for me on Big Cass. If we see a 2nd straight bad PPV match from him, with Daniel Bryan of all people, I don’t know what there is to say at that point. The important part here is that Daniel Bryan wins this match and moves on from this program and into something more interesting. To me, Cass belongs in a more mid-card program, maybe even for the United States Title. Build him up more before he goes any further.
