This week of ROH Wrestling saw the build to Best in the World continue, as RPG3K challenged The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championships.

This episode of ROH Wrestling started with action right away, as Jonathan Gresham took on Flip Gordon.

Jonathan Gresham vs. Flip Gordon

Flip and Gresham start off with an exchange that sees Flip telling Gresham that he “Can’t see him” John Cena style. Okay, that was weird. Gresham hit a chop, sent Flip into the corner, and started to work over Flip’s back. Gresham’s nickname is The Octopus, which he lives up to with an Octopus stretch.

Gresham hit some forearms to the back and head of Flip before hitting the ropes. Flip responds with a dropkick that sends Gresham to the outside, and follows up with a springboard plancha. When the show came back from break, both men were exchanging forearms in the middle of the ring, to great cheers from the crowd.

Gordon ends the sequence with a crazy kick, stops a springboard DDT from Gresham in midair, and hits a Falcon Arrow, but Gresham kicked out. Flip hit an awesome Star Spangled Stunner that saw Gresham go down for the fall.

Bully Ray came down to the ring after the match and told Gordon to put his hands down. Ray cut a promo about how his mom and dad always wanted to buy property in Montana (where Flip is from), and how his parents died before he could get them the house they wanted in Montana.

Bully Ray said that he supports the troops, and he found out that Flip was in the army, and he respects him for that. He didn’t respect him as a wrestler, but he respected him in life. They shook hands, but Ray kicked Gordon low as they saluted. Ray picked up the mic and asked if everyone knew who he is. He then called Flip a stupid young boy.

A hype video aired showing the feud between Deonna Purrazzo and Kelly Klein.

A recap aired of Austin Aries having the decision about the ROH Television title match reversed last week, and in turn, he isn’t the TV champion.
