Hideo Itami Vs Mustafa Ali Vs Buddy Murphy
Result: Hideo Itami wins with a dropkick into an exposed turnbuckle
Grade: B-
Mustafa Ali and Buddy Murphy have been two of the finest performers on 205 Live so far in 2018, and Hideo Itami is no slouch either, so it’s no surprise that this was the best match on this week’s show.
While the match wasn’t confirmed as a number 1 contenders match, it seems likely that the winner of the bout will go on to face Cedric Alexander at some point over the Summer.
The three men put on an impressive display here, the match was full of exciting moments, and Buddy Murphy continued to shine again this week.
Itami’s new heel persona is really starting to take shape, and having him pick up the win was the best decision, even if it felt a little predictable.
The ending came when Itami exposed the bottom turnbuckle after Ali had laid out Murphy with an impressive Spanish fly off the announce table. When Ali returned to the ring, he was treated to a brutal dropkick into the exposed buckle by Itami and put down for the count. The finish did seem a little botched here, with Itami failing to get the buckle off at the first attempt, making it look a bit silly when Ali seemingly helped it along. It left the ending feeling a little flat, but that was a minor blip in what was a very good main event match.

Once again, 205 Live delivered this week. While this perhaps didn’t have the stand-out, must see match that some of the more recent ones have, it was still a really fun episode of the show.
