3. Jeff Hardy And The Usos vs. SAnitY

The United States Champion Jeff Hardy appears to be headed for a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura with the two scheduled to face off last night for the gold.  However, due to unforeseen circumstances, that title match didn’t pan out.

Nakamura was injured in real-life, so the match was ditched from last night’s show.  Instead, Hardy issued an open challenge with his title on the line.  SAnitY answered the challenge and the trio’s leader, Eric Young, fought Hardy for the U.S. Championship.  That match would break down towards the end with the rest of SAnitY and The Usos getting involved.

However, it led to an impromptu six-man tag team match that saw Hardy and The Usos battle SAnitY in what would turn out to be a very solid match.  Both teams shined throughout and looked very impressive at times, but the final result of the match probably could have been different.  Hardy got the pin on Alexander Wolfe to get the win for his team and give SAnitY a loss in its first collective main roster match.

Despite the result probably not being what it should have been, the match itself was very solid from top to bottom.  It won’t be insurmountable to overcome for SAnitY and it gives Hardy and The Usos more momentum heading into the next few weeks when Jimmy and Jey could be in a feud with SAnitY and Hardy will have his own U.S. Championship problems to deal with.

Nobody expected to see six-man tag team action with these individuals involved last night, but it was a welcomed addition to the card.

Final Grade: B+
