Does Vince McMahon Even Pay Attention To WWE NXT?

In NXT, the character development of Andrade Cien Almas was a joy to watch grow. He started off as someone who didn’t necessarily take his work in the ring serious, but was more worried about having fun and living the life of a superstar. That would be until he hired Zelina Vega as his business associate. Zelina would help give Andrade a new focus and will to win that we hadn’t seen from him before, which would eventually lead to him capturing the NXT Championship. Almas proved that he was more than ready with some fantastic matches, including what may still be the best WWE match of this year with his match against Johnny Gargano.
Now, what have we seen since Almas has been called up to the main roster? Some Zelina Vega promos, Almas has beaten two local competitors, and there was a start to an angle with Sin Cara of all people which ended up going nowhere. Quite the hot start. Now don’t get me wrong, this does not mean Almas is ruined by any means. They could decide to start pushing Almas more and it wouldn’t be too hard of a transition. The problem is however, that he’s been called up with no plan in place for him.
When we’re introduced to a new a character, it should become clear what that character’s direction is. Too many times, including with Almas, we don’t get that right away. Instead what we’re given is something for him to start off with to fill time, while WWE is still trying to decide what they actually want to do with him.
