4. Samoa Joe Defeats Tye Dillinger

Tye Dillinger got thrown into a match with Samoa Joe tonight on SmackDown Live because of R-Truth’s meddling, and it looks like he’s going to GET GOT! I was a tad heartbroken that Tye did not want to become a tag team with R-Truth because they could actually make a name for themselves if they were to do that. They could combine their gimmicks and spit out 10 amusing truths or “epiphanies” about SmackDown Live and its superstars.

Albeit some wishful thinking, Tye will have to just lose to Joe tonight on SmackDown Live. Joe is another superstar who has not been utilized persistently, especially since he was last televised almost a month ago in a gauntlet match to determine the next #1 contender for AJ Styles’ WWE Championship. Check out the match from WWE’s YouTube page below, in which Joe was eliminated from the gauntlet match after losing to Daniel Bryan via countout:

Since Joe does not have a match at Extreme Rules, this one-off match is a way to retrieve his well-deserved momentum. Hopefully, he will still make an impact at Extreme Rules, despite his loss of direction. He must still be salty about losing his shot at becoming #1 contender for the WWE Championship, and he can use that mistake he made as a motivator to attack WWE Champion AJ Styles at Extreme Rules, start a meaningful feud for SummerSlam, and therefore insert himself into the world title picture where he belongs.
