WWE Raw Power Rankings: Drew McIntyre Scores Huge Win
By Bryan Heaton
10. Bobby Lashley (last week: 10)
For the first time since returning to WWE, Lashley actually looked like something other than a waste of time this week on WWE Raw. It may be too little too late to salvage the program with Roman Reigns. But moving forward, Bob should be in good shape to move on to other opponents.
I think part of why Lashley isn’t working right now is that he’s being presented as a main event level talent without actually getting a chance to show that he can be such a performer. It’s like when you were in math class in school and had to show your work, but you didn’t know what you were doing and just gave an answer with some scribbles as to how you got it. Lashley is a mysterious answer that someone just fell into, and there’s no rhyme or reason as to how it appeared.
But that’s a story for another day.
9. Alexa Bliss (last week: 11)
The Raw Women’s Champion busted out her old friend the kendo stick this week. As I mentioned during the Raw review, it may bring back some bad memories after the fued with Bayley last year. But Alexa Bliss just seems so nasty that it fits that she’s the kind of superstar who would resort to using a weapon at the first opportunity.
With Bliss and Nia Jax being the one match getting the full “Extreme Rules” stipulation this Sunday, I’d like to see more weapons added to the mix. But even though the feud is both a rehash and a placeholder, it’s been presented pretty well so far.
