Dominick Cruz Doesn’t Think Brock Lesnar will Pass USADA Testing
The current WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, made waves last weekend when he showed up at UFC 226.
Brock Lesnar jumped in the cage after Daniel Cormier successfully defeated Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Title.
Cormier called out Lesnar in a promo with Joe Rogan, stating that he wanted that fight. Lesnar hopped in the cage, shoved Cormier, and cut a pro wrestling style promo.
The whole event garnered quite a bit of publicity, as WWE and UFC look to capitalize on Lesnar’s popularity.
This created a lot of buzz for the UFC and WWE fans, but not everyone was thrilled. Dominick Cruz, the former UFC Bantamweight Champion, does not think Lesnar will be able to make it through USADA’s drug testing pool.
"If he makes it to the fight I’d be shocked. And I just mean that because USADA is the toughest anti-doping system there is on planet Earth, and that guy is absolutely doping. Period. No ifs, ands or buts about it. And he’s not been in mixed martial arts, so of course he’s been doing that stuff. How they’re going to get him to be clean on fight night is beyond me."
While at initial glance, this seems to be an unfounded assumption, the last time Lesnar fought in UFC ended in controversy. At UFC 200, Lesnar was able to make his return to the Octagon, successfully defeating Mark Hunt. However, Lesnar failed his post fight drug tests, turning the fight into a no contest. Lesnar quietly returned to to WWE, where he is not subject to WWE’s drug testing policy due to being a part-time performer.

The question remains as to whether or not Lesnar will be able to pass all of his tests this time around. Lesnar previously received an exemption from the four months of drug testing USADA typically requires for fighters returning from retirement before his UFC 200 fight due to him requiring permission from WWE to fight. It is highly unlikely that he will receive the same exemption this time around.
Time will tell if Brock Lesnar can pass all the drug tests. If he doesn’t, it does not reflect well on UFC or WWE.
