6. Matt Sydal- X Division Champion

Sydal is in the running for Impact Wrestling’s MVP this year, and his upcoming match against Brian Cage at Slammiversary has sneaky “Match of the Year Contender” potential. After Sydal defeated Cage due to Kongo Kong’s interference in his initial defense of the X Division Championship, he may not be so lucky this time. Cage doesn’t lose to the same opponent twice, and he doesn’t take cheating lightly. He already beat Kong, so Sydal had better watch out.

That said, Sydal always has his third eye open, so warning him to “watch out” is a bit like telling any of Sasha Banks’s friends (well, currently, that’s zero) to always look over their shoulders. One of Impact’s savviest competitors, Sydal will likely have several tricks up his sleeve to ensure he retains the X Division Championship.

5. Moose

With DeAngelo Williams in his corner and some killer training under his belt, Moose seems poised to take the Impact World Championship off of Austin Aries, who has treated him with the utmost disrespect. Aries has misrepresented Moose’s career, called himself the “quarterback” of Impact to justify a “stay in your lane” speech to Moose, and he hit Williams with a low blow.

If a Carolina Panther and an Atlanta Falcon can work together (and their name isn’t Thomas DeCoud), then anything is possible, including an Impact World Championship victory. Moose will have to be at his best to make sure he wins that title and doesn’t have anyone else steal the spotlight from him at Slammiversary.
