The New Day have reached a point in which they do not need titles to be over with the fans. Every time their music hits, they are out to a big pop from the crowd. They continue to reinvent themselves in ways that help them remain relevant because it’s impossible to predict what they will do. Even though Big E is expected to head toward the main event, Kofi and Xavier could remain relevant in a different way, wrapped up in the United States belt.

The New Day implemented the Freebird Rule to explain how they would defend their Tag Team Championships. Imagine if they bend the rules to do the same thing with the US Title: taking turns defending the belt against various challengers. That would create an opportunity to keep their act together and feature them in a new light as singles starts. Kingston, Woods and even Big E rotating with that title would create some very entertaining and action packed segments. The New Day continue to deliver time and time again, so allowing one of them to take the belt off of Hardy is the right move for all four men involved.
Plus, this could be the segue to the storyline that could see the end of The New Day for them to move onto bigger opportunities as singles stars.
