Hiroshi Tanahashi
I know I know. This is crazy talk… Just come on, dream with me for a second.
Hiroshi Tanahashi has been leading the way for New Japan Pro Wrestling for over a decade now. Through the good times and the bad times, The Ace has been there, creating magical moments and carrying the company on his back when necessary. There’s an argument to be made that no single wrestler has ever been as valuable to their company as Tanahashi has been to NJPW. With that being said, Tanahashi’s time at the top is slowly coming to an end. He’s transitioned from the main event to mostly the mid card over the past two years, and it’s fair to expect him to keep descending down the card as time passes. He’s accomplished everything there is to accomplish in Japan, so why not spend a few years in WWE?
Of course, Tanahashi would bypass NXT, as he’s 41 years old and not getting any younger. Also, it just wouldn’t feel right for him to work in what is technically a developmental brand at heart. Much of the WWE universe would surely know of Tanahashi and give him the type of response that he deserves, and the more casual fans that aren’t aware of his greatness would quickly be won over by his incredible wrestling and undeniable charm.

As monumental as Shinsuke Nakamura coming to WWE was, Tanahashi deciding to spend some of the final years of his legendary career in WWE would be absolutely Earth-shattering. Imagine The Ace sharing the ring with the likes of John Cena, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, Triple H, The Miz, Drew Mcintyre… The list goes on. If you’re not salivating at the thought of these potential dream matches, you may need to check your pulse.
