WWE NXT: 5 Wrestlers With Main Roster Megastar Potential

2. Velveteen Dream
It’s easy to get pegged as a future megastar when John Cena calls you “The One.” The man defined by hustle, loyalty, and respect has personally chosen Velveteen Dream as wrestling’s next big thing, and it’s easy to see why.
Like most of the other wrestlers on this list, the Dream has some aura about him, and in addition to that, he has more of “it” than any other person in wrestling right now. NJPW’s Kenny Omega and Tetsuya Naito are great, but there is something about the Velveteen Dream that is so utterly…entrancing, really.
Dream is so into his character, and so all-out in everything that his character does that he feels like more of a caricature than a man. He is no longer Patrick Clark, but he really is the Velveteen Dream. His Twitter is a treasure trove of self-aware “inside baseball” style references, and he almost feels bigger than NXT at this point.
At only 22 years old, Dream is still getting better and won’t even hit his in-ring prime for the better part of a decade. It’s been said before, and I’ll say it again: if even a fraction of the Velveteen Dream actually is Patrick Clark, then Vince McMahon and company have certified solid gold on their hands.
