3. Rusev Is DONE With Aiden English
At Extreme Rules, Aiden English exposed the steel on the turnbuckle, Rusev went face first into the steel, and AJ Styles retained his WWE Championship. In other words, Aiden cost Rusev his very first WWE Championship match. The course of his title match can be briefly viewed in the link below from WWE’s YouTube page:
Due to this mishap, I foresee a heart shattering split occurring between these two tonight on SmackDown Live. Rusev surely needs to flip the switch after losing a significant match in his career and this could be a way to maintain interest in his character. Once he gets rid of Aiden, he can focus on feuds with other superstars on the roster leading up to SummerSlam.
Rusev could feud with Andrade Cien Almas, who is fresh off a feud with Sin Cara, or even with a returning superstar like Chris Jericho, a certified veteran who can put Rusev over and feed him some momentum. If not, Rusev Day would just have to be relegated to the tag team division where they could possibly turn face due to their reception from the crowd and fight the Bludgeon Bros for the tag team championships in due time.
