3. Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas

Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas’s arrival on the main roster has not been as successful as most fans would have liked. The former NXT Champion’s rumoured rise to the US title scene was halted by an injury to Sin Cara, and while he has since returned to our screens and defeated his nemesis, Almas still has no clear sense of direction.

It is clear that Orton is going to enter the United States Title picture in the next month or so, but SmackDown really needs to take some time re-establishing its mid-card scene, which has been in a state of disarray since WrestleMania.

One way to do this would be to create a feud to determine who will go on to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the US title.

The set-up here would be easy enough, with Orton coming out and claiming that he deserves a shot at the US title, only for Almas to come out and tell him that he needs to get past him first. It seems fairly likely that Orton is going to be playing a heel role from now on, but there is every chance that he may just play an ambiguous anti-hero role instead, meaning a match between himself and Almas is perfectly viable.

This would also prove to the WWE universe that the company is invested in Almas, and ready to have him in the ring with some of the company’s more established stars.
